What Is It?
House Bill 448 (HB 448) entitled Sales and Use Tax-Services was introduced to the General Assembly. If passed, HB 448 would alter the definition of “taxable service” under the sales and use tax to impose the 5% tax on thirty-one (31) new services bringing the total forty-three (43) services, including:
- Public Relations
- Business Consulting
- Art Services
- Photographic Services
- Direct Mail Services
The Speaker of the House assigned the bill to the Ways and Means Committee. The legislation was introduced and read for the first time on February 5, 2007 and was heard on March 14, 2007 in Annapolis.
